ORYL Photonics and CSEM have jointly won first prize in the Impact Expected category at the EARTO Innovation Awards 2026, recognising the solubility and aggregation measurement method behind the ORYL F1.
We’re glad to share that ORYL Photonics and CSEM have jointly received first prize in the “Impact Expected” category at the EARTO Innovation Awards 2026. The award was presented on 10 June 2026, recognising the solubility and aggregation measurement method behind the ORYL F1.
The ORYL F1 is a high-throughput, low-compound, plate-based solubility and aggregation profiling instrument, powered by Ultrafast Light Scattering (ULS) — a combination of Second Harmonic Scattering (SHS) and Linear Light Scattering (LLS) measured on the same sample. It profiles a 384-well plate in about 15 minutes, roughly 100× faster and with around 100× less compound than traditional HPLC solubility workflows. This lets pharmaceutical R&D teams de-risk solubility and aggregation issues early and identify promising drug candidates before they reach costly downstream assays.
“This method enables solubility tests to be performed 100 times faster at approximately one-tenth the cost,” said Orly Tarun, CEO and co-founder of ORYL Photonics.
The method works across a wide range of drug classes and conditions and is scalable for high-throughput screening, bringing usable data earlier in the research cycle. The recognition follows ORYL’s SLAS Ignite Award 2025.
A collaboration with CSEM
The award reflects a multi-year research collaboration between ORYL and CSEM. CSEM is a co-developer of the Linear Light Scattering technology behind the platform and a co-applicant on the associated patent, contributing to the electronics that make the measurement possible.
