High-throughput, low-compound, plate-based solubility and aggregation profiling — powered by Ultrafast Light Scattering (ULS).
ORYL F1 Ultrafast Light Scattering Instrument
What ORYL F1 Does
The ORYL F1 measures solubility and aggregation across hundreds of conditions in minutes, using standard 384-well plates. By combining second harmonic scattering (SHS) and linear light scattering (LLS), the ORYL F1 delivers complementary readouts that give pharma R&D teams decision-ready results early in the pipeline.
Rapid profiling with low compound consumption makes the ORYL F1 practical for both early discovery screening and pre-formulation studies — matching the pace of modern pharma R&D timelines.
From plate to decision in minutes
A streamlined workflow designed to fit existing lab processes with minimal training required.
Prepare
Load samples into a standard 384-well plate using your existing liquid handling workflow.
Measure
Insert the plate into the ORYL F1. The ORYL Screener profiles all wells in approximately 15 minutes.
Analyze
The ORYL Analyzer software processes SHS and LLS data and presents clear, interpretable results.
Decide
Use decision-ready results to advance the right molecules, de-risk early, and reduce rework.

Common questions about the ORYL F1
Approximately 15 minutes for a full 384-well plate. That is approximately 100 times faster than traditional HPLC-based solubility and aggregation workflows and around 10 times faster than DLS, SLS, or nephelometry-based methods.
At maximum test concentration of 100 μM, one solubility datapoint consumes approximately 2 μL of 10 mM DMSO solution (or 10 μg, assuming 500 g/mol molecular weight) — around 100 times less compound than HPLC-based methods (1 mg). This makes the ORYL F1 practical for early-stage discovery where compound is scarce.
Below 1 micromolar. ORYL F1 detects nanometer-scale aggregation before it becomes visible through turbidity, providing earlier and more actionable insight than nephelometry or conventional DLS.
Yes. ORYL F1 is CE-marked and compliant with IEC 60825-1 for laser safety and IEC 61010-1 for laboratory equipment. It is a Class 1 instrument using a Class 4 ultrafast laser with full interlock architecture.
Standard 96-well and 384-well plates with COC or glass film bottoms. Working volume per well is 50 to 300 microlitres. The ORYL F1 fits existing liquid-handling and laboratory automation workflows with minimal adaptation.
ORYL F1 is the only plate-based instrument that reliably profiles high-concentration biologics above 50 mg/mL and new modalities (PROTACs, macrocycles, constrained peptides) where DLS, SLS and HPLC saturate or fail.
